FUNCTION UpdateParent (NodeInfo Child, FuncParam Dummy)

UpdateParent() is essentially a wrapper function for the Restrict() function, which gets called only after verifying that both Child and its parent exist and have have been properly initialized (i.e., memory is allocated to all their auxiliary and user-defined fields).
