Shape Installation

Pretty straight forward!

  1. Go to this ​Downloads Page. There you can see all the different versions of Shape. You will want the latest version. As of the Summer of 2015, it is SHAPE v5.
  2. Click the ​Goto installer page.
  3. Shape can run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
  • Note for Mac OS X: As illustrated on their website, you will want to download their zip file named Shape_v5_Mac_j3d_files.zip and place the contents in the directory /Library/Java/Extensions.
  • Note for all users: Make sure you have Java installed.
  1. Simply download the installers for your machine and you're good to go.

One can use Shape easily on their personal machine. However if you would like to install Shape on one of the local machines housed in the department, you will need to be OK'd by (​rsarkis@pas.rochester.edu) Rich Sarkis.
