Meeting Update 11/11/2014 - Eddie

  • Had some issues with running 3-D Mach stem problem with cooling.
    • It seems that the code can only use the exact Riemann solver with the ideal equation of state (and not a multi-species EOS which is what I use for Z cooling). The code immediately gets restarts due to nan in flux.
    • There are 11 tracer fields: one for each clump, one for the wind, HI, HII, HeI, HeII, HeIII, SII, SIII, SIV. It's likely that the nan is being caused by one or more of these.
    • For now, I have resubmitted the run to the queue using the default (HLLC) solver.
  • On the afrank nodes, my 3-D Mach stem with cooling run failed after 7 frames. I got srun errors that I didn't really understand. I'm thinking it's a memory issue, so I switched back to the standard queue. Here is what I have so far:
  • Altered my problem module to use 3 clumps now, and also implemented a camera object so that I can make emission maps based on inclination angle. This will be useful for comparing with observations. This just needs to be tested now.
