2D Mach Stems

Finished measuring actual angles of intersection: ​https://astrobear.pas.rochester.edu/trac/blog/ehansen03202015. Notice how these angles do not follow a trend.

Below is a side-by-side image of the gamma = 1.4, d = 6.5 and d = 3 models. Just by eyeballing it, it appears that the angles are not significantly different. The predicted angles should be approximately 20 deg different, whereas the actual angles only differ by about 8 deg. I conclude that these actual initial angles do not determine the result. Perhaps an angle at a later time would be a better predictor, but I don't see how to explain that theoretically.
