Mach Stems

  • all of the 2-D 80 cells/rclump runs completed on BlueStreak
  • I did some estimates for the SUs required for 3-D runs: ehansen02122014

1-D Rad Shocks

  • Anna made the comparison plot, and it showed that implementing the Raymond ionization table did not make much of a difference. There must be a different reason for why our models are different.
  • I thought to check the time resolution, but when I looked at one of my models I found that the time step was less than a nanosecond. If I used the right units, I think typical ionization rates lead to a very rough estimate of about 1023 ionization events per cell per time step near the shock front.

Pulsed Jets

  • I couldn't get visit to open the chombos on kraken, but I did get it to open the .bov files. Below are the emission maps for the hydro case (left) and the beta = 1 case (right).
